Golf Shirts Styles Play a Big Part of Today’s Golfer

The men’s golf shirt industry is changing from year to year; from the standard 100% cotton fabric which is pretty heavy compared to the 100% pima cotton and the 100% polyester with moisture wicking technology.

For you beginners, be aware of the dress codes on the courses you play. No tank tops, denim jeans shorts or cutoffs. A collared shirt is required with a pair of slacks or shorts. No metal spikes.

This dress code is pretty much standard on all courses you will play anywhere in the country, but there may be exceptions; some country clubs may have additional rules so just call the course and ask. They will be more than happy to answer your questions.

When choosing a golf shirt, choose a shirt that fits your style. This year there are some with bold colors and wild patterns you can select from. The colors range from bright orange, purple, green and pink or stick to the more traditional, whatever fits yours style.

The shirt has to fit right and be comfortable. You don’t want it too tight; this will restrict your swing. Having it too loose around your shoulders will cause you to always be tugging at your sleeve before you swing the club.

There are many different styles to choose from. Golf polo’s that have two or three button, short or long sleeves. There are Mock neck polo’s and a whole array of different styles and colors. A good quality golf polo is very versatile, it can be worn just about anywhere, on or off the course.

When looking for golf shirts don’t overlook the wind shirt. This shirt is worn over your polo on cool mornings, windy days and in light rain. These shirts come in a variety of colors and styles, also long sleeves, 3/4 sleeves, short sleeves, v-necks or mock neck. They are light weight, non-restrictive and water repellent to some extent.

I find on-line shopping is more cost effective than purchasing golf shirts at a retail store or pro shop. At a retail store or pro shop, there is always a big mark up unless they are having an end of the season sale where you can get some good bargains.

On-line shopping is the way to go, you don’t have to leave the house, you can shop 24/7 and have the items shipped to your door step in a short amount of time. My thought, why pay retail when you can buy wholesale?

Take pride in your golf game, dress the part, whether you’re a seasoned or new golfer. The new golf shirt styles will have you feeling cool and comfortable both on and off the course.
